American, circa 1862. Oil on fabric. Titled lower right: “Former slave/John Washington/joined Union Army/in Fredericksburg, VA 1862”. Condition: Very Good. Housed in a period simulated rosewood molded frame. CORRECTION: Probably 20th Century work by Antonio Romano.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: Frame: 26 - 1/4" x 33 - 1/4".
