Fairly late 7 frame gun made in 1888 with 36" twist barrels that have matted concave rib and small steel front bead. Barrel flats marked with unstruck barrel weight of 9lbs 7oz! Back barrel lump with clear "7" stamp. Splinter forend is checkered in diamond pattern and has unengraved Deeley release and steel tip. Large case hardened 7 frame action is unengraved and marked "Parker Bros. on lock plates. Made with double triggers and extractor. The capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in two point pattern through the wrist and terminates with a dogs head buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent as partially restored. Barrels retain about 85% toned pattern. There is a ping in the right tube that does not go through and the barrels have begun to tone. Forend is sound and retains most of a restored finish, checkering chased, and mullered border is no longer apparent. The action retains about 35%+ original color, mostly on locks, toned elsewhere, but overall a very pleasing look. The buttstock retains most of an older restored finish, checkering recut and mullered border is gone. Bores are very good for a gun of this model with orange peel in the right, left bore with only minor orange peel. Mechanics are fine. These 7 Frame guns are hard to find as most of the 8 bore guns in this range were made on 6 frames. A lovely big bore Parker! JSL
