Pre-Custer Springfield 1873 Carbine with high arch breech block and two position tumbler. Updated thick wrist butt stock with indiscernible SWP cartouche and steel buttplate with trap for tools. Cleaning rod and cartridge extractor in trap. Barrel band has stacking swivel, 1879 pattern "C" marked rear sight. Lock marked "U.S. SPRINGFIELD 1873". Smooth trigger in early two piece trigger guard assembly. CONDITION: Good with dark patina stock with numerous period blemishes. Barrel is an even brown. 1873 dated breechblock is silvered out with traces of case colors internally. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Action operates properly. TDW
