Originally intended as a light rifle substitute and primarily marketed for domestic consumption in Germany. A very limited production of the estimated 2500 were produced with a small number being exported abroad to the United States. Fitted with a 11 - 3/4" barrel with drift adjustable front sight and a four position rear sight graduated to 300 meters. Blue finish with straw finished appointments and fitted with checkered walnut forearm, grips and detachable shoulder stock. Traditional eight round magazines of sheet metal, nickel finished with wooden bases. Offered example is cased in a contemporary fitted luggage case, with partitions for two additional magazines, shoulder stock, gun, sling and a box of cartridges. Detailed disassembly revealed gun is all matching with addition of shoulder stock having matching numbers on mounting iron. CONDITION: Extremely fine as completely and masterfully restored to as new. Over 98% of the blue finish remains with a trace of finish loss at muzzle and high points of action from very light use. Bore is very good with some earlier frosting in the grooves but being shiny and having sharp rifling. Wood grips are very fine with a small internal crack in the right grip. The forearm is equally fine with a wood repair at schnabel prior to restoration. The shoulder stock is very fine with no distress. The case is very nice with crushed green wool lining, black leather exterior and nickel hardware for latches, hinges and handle cleats. TDW
