Lot consists of: (A) Schuyler, Hartley and Graham Staff officer's sword with imported Solingen straight spear point blade decorated with florals and patriotic motifs. Left side of ricasso marked with "W / CLAUBERG / (Logo) / SOLINGEN". Spine of blade marked "IRON PROOF". Right side ricasso marked "Schuyler Hartley / & Graham / New York". Guard is pierced with florals, eagle with a ribbon reading "E Pluribus Unum", and "US". Fish skin grip with single strand of braided copper wire. Nickel plated scabbard with two hanger rings. CONDITION: Good. Blade with crisp decoration and some extremely minor oxidation towards tip. Grip is loose. Brass with a pleasing dark patina. Fishskin grip with one tear on right side. Scabbard has numerous dents that do not interfere with blade and areas of light oxidation. Drag heavily corroded. There is one crack in the pierced decoration next to the eagle's beak that goes all the way through. (B) Mintzer 1850 Foot Officer's sword with 32" slightly curved blade with partial double fuller and decorated with patriotic motifs and florals. Cast and chased guard pierced and decorated with florals. Fish skin grip with single strand of braided brass wire. Leather scabbard with brass throat, locket, and drag. CONDITION: Good. Blade has been cleaned over light pitting but decoration still clear. Fish skin grip complete with split down front but only two turnings of wire remain. Leather scabbard is split just above the drag. Leather otherwise with crazing. Brass of guard and on scabbard now a pleasing dark patina with some age stains. Drag with some door pinches. EW
