Made by Browning Brothers Ogden, Utah. This Model 1878 has blued octagon rifled barrel with blade front sight and rear adjustable. Barrel is marked with "W.F. BEARD" whom further research is needed. Case hardened action, double set triggers, wooden ramrod and iron ramrod pipes. Walnut checkered stock with shotgun style butt with cleaning rod trap. Checkered walnut forearm with pewter nose piece. CONDITION: Barrel has pitted exterior with shootable bore. Action has faded to a silvery pitted patina. Wood has a crack behind the action and a sliver missing along forearm, along with usage marks and dings. Good mechanics. DLM
