34 - 1/2" gently curving blade with partial double fuller running for approximately 3/4 of the length of the blade. Right side of ricasso with "US / G.W.C / 1864", left side with "Made by Ames Mfg Co" in a scroll; lower half of legend no longer visible. Three branch guard, single strand of braided brass wire. "G.W.C." inspection at pommel. Plain scabbard with two hanger rings, A.D.K. inspection on drag, and a nicely visible solder line. CONDITION: Blade is very good, bright, with some oil staining and a few minor areas of scattered darkness and dings along the blade. Guard exhibits signs of use. Grip is very good, complete, with some chipping and craquelure to leather. Scabbard is very good with one very minor ding to left side and an attractive even patina. EW
