Stock period stamped DOLPHIN on right and ARCHIRA & CRANE MARCH 97 on left. Unique gun is in untouched condition throughout. Barrel bands are deeply aged copper or brass. Bolster type conversion. The hammer is of English type. Safety catch not present. Stock with two side nails is made without buttplate or trigger guard. CONDITION: Untouched throughout. Barrel with deep brown crusty appearance, precisely what one would expect from shipboard storage. The lock has medium pitting en suite with barrel. Action is sticky. Bore is poor. Stock with great patina throughout. A large and fantastic piece for the American nautical collector or aficionado of early American oddities. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
