1876 vintage 1873 First Model rifle. 24" full round barrel with full length magazine tube. Chambered in .44-40. Mortised dust cover with checkered "thumbprint". Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Rifle style crescent buttplate. Standard sights and trigger. Blue with case hardened hammer, buttplate, and lever. CONDITION: Fine overall with approximately 80-85% thinning original blue mixed with brown patina on barrel and magazine tube. 75-80% thinning original blue on frame. Traces of case color on hammer. Lever and buttplate mainly a light brown/gunmetal grey patina. Stock is excellent showing modest wear. Forearm is sound with a few scratches and dents. Bore is excellent. Action is tight and crisp. Overall an above average early first model 1873 with honest wear. -MKS-
