Factory dating indicates this gun was manufactured in 1962 as a Pointer Grade Superposed. Barrels marked Modified and Full, with narrow, matted, ventilated rib are marked with Browning St. Louis and Montreal addresses, steel and gauge information on left, patents, and "MADE IN BELGIUM" on right side of top barrel. Coin finished small superposed action with gold plated single selective trigger is engraved in usual "Pointer" style with nicely cut scroll surrounding lab retrieving a duck on the left side and a pointer retrieving a pheasant on the right side. The floor plate is engraved with two game birds. Trigger gauge is engraved with a pheasant. Engravers signature is not evident. Beautiful well figured European walnut round knob long tang with a Browning embossed horn buttplate. Standard point pattern checkering is at grip. Stock is slightly cast on (approx 1/8") for a left handed shooter. Forend wood matches well. Includes factory carry case. CONDITION: Very good with evidence of use. Barrels retain virtually all bluing. Action retains nearly all of its coin finish, lacquer darkening. Stocks retain nearly all of their original finish with few handling marks and checkering has softened. Buttplate shows evidence of horn delaminating. Bores are excellent with some evidence of lead fouling. Mechanically fine. JTH
