One of the finest engraved semi-auto .22's this cataloger has examined. Made by FN, and according to our consignor, taken off of the line by Jose Baerten himself and engraved for his own personal collection. Barrel with FN address, gold bands at muzzle. Forend is beautifully carved and checkered in exhibition fashion. Blued receiver is near fully engraved with gold inlays of fox and rabbits on left, fox peering at pigeons on top, and pigeons flying and rabbits leaping on left all surrounded by gold line and scroll work. Signed "J. Baerten" on both sides, the quality of the gold inlay is nothing short of incredible! Butt is carved similarly to an exhibition Superposed pattern with super grain layout and fiddle back and terminates with a full steel blued buttplate. There is a small plugged knot on top of grip. Housed in a Browning Airways take down case. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine and appears factory test fired only. Retains nearly all custom finish to both wood and metal surfaces with only the most minute of handling marks. Truly an exceptional work of art! JSL
