Made in 1974, this is a very interesting Superposed shotgun that was special ordered with several special features. Made with two sets of barrels, one Imp. Cyl. & Mod, 28" barrels, and a set of 26-1/2" barrels, Skeet/Skeet choked, both with low profile ventilated matted ribs and usual barrel markings. Round nosed custom forends are beautifully checkered in point pattern with carved leaf border and beautifully carved floral pattern near muzzle ends and have coin finished and engraved releases. Coin finished action, engraved and signed by Vrancken on left side is uniquely engraved with large quail on left, Pointer on bottom, and Dove on right all surrounded by well executed tight scroll work. Made with gold plated single selective trigger, auto-ejectors, and non-auto safety. Stock is in long tang round knob configuration with carved floral and leaf point pattern through the wrist and opens up in a beautiful flame grain towards butt which is also finely checkered and floral carved at heel and toe. Housed in a Browning Airways two barrel set case with paperwork included. CONDITION: Extremely fine as partially restored. Barrels and action retain nearly all of their original finish. Stocks, which appear to be later factory replacements retain nearly all of their custom finishes. The gun has been fired, but very little. Case is excellent with minor rub marks. This is a most beautiful and useful Superposed for the discerning buyer! JSL
