BUG proofs under the barrel with 10180 number which matches rear stock, trigger, barrel key, and buttplate. Octagonal barrel with matted top rib, sling swivel on bottom flat. Action with "J/G/A" proof, and "(Crown) /N / (Crown) / U / (Crown) / B" proof. Tang marked "Original / Meister" just behind breech block. Action extensively engraved with acanthus leaves, punch dots. Left side features portrait of a hunter smoking a pipe, right side with the same hunter now mounting his rifle ready to hunt. Mount for orthoptic sight is empty. Stock is checkered with a thumbpiece that is stippled on the face, and appears to have been laminated during its manufacture, explaining the color change. Ergonomic trigger guard with black wood inserts, both inserts broken at curve. Cheekpiece is fluted towards rear. Buttplate with engraving towards top. CONDITION: Good. Metal has taken on a lovely patina, wood is very good with some handling marks, nicks, and pressure marks; left side of stock near buttplate is flaking from pressure and needs attention. Action works appropriately, bore is very good with sharp rifling and some beginning darkness in grooves. EW
