Manufactured 1917. Marked with a horizontal "3" under the firing pin retaining plate, "H" directly above plate, in recess. U notch flat top rear sight, half moon front sight. Two line two block patent date and address block ending with August. 19.1913 with Rampant Colt at rear, behind cocking serrations. Slide markings with no serifs. Later replacement Springfield barrel with "S" and "P" on left lug, "PX-4" heat lot number on lower left side of breech. Checkered slide stop. Checkered left side only safety, hammer, magazine release. Long smooth face trigger, smooth flat mainspring housing. Gilbert H. Stewart proof on frame. Truncated diamond walnut grips, right top screw tends to take the bushing out with it. First variation Springfield magazine with lanyard loop. Holster conforms to the Mills 1914 pattern but is most likely spurious, as the Mills ink stamp is diminutive and the snaps are elliptical rather than round. CONDITION: Good, retaining the majority of its original blue with wear at high points and scattered cosmetic scratches and other markings from handling and use. Action works correctly, bore is very good to fine, with sharp visible rifling and some light evidence of use. Holster is very good, stitching is tight, with some rubbing to brass toe and belt loops.
