Lot consists of (A) Winchester 1895 lever action rifle with leather scabbard. Serial number dates this gun to 1899. Barrel is marked "30 U.S." Standard leaf sight. A previous owner has put a piece of soapstone in the butt-stock. Stock has been "sporterized". Action is mechanically fine. Leather scabbard is marked "EDC WEBB/Maker/Rifle COLO". CONDITION: Overall fair to good. Metal retains little to none of its original finish. Wood is good with numerous dings, scratches and handling marks. Bore with fair rifling. Scabbard is fair with a few rips on the edges. (B) Winchester 1895 lever action rifle dated to 1898. "Sporterized" example of the musket version made for military contracts. Rifle is stamped "U.S." on the top of the action. Missing screws on the tang of the receiver. Military sight is still present. Missing other action parts and is inoperable as it sits. CONDITION: Overall poor to fair. Metal retains little to none of its original finish. Generous patina over all the metal parts. Stock is fair with numerous dings, scratches and dents. Bore is frosted with little rifling left. A good pair of rifles for parts or possible restoration. JA
