Proofed in 1970 this extremely well built gun features matted rib with small brass front bead. Tops of barrels marked "ACCIAIO PHONIX" on right and "F. PIOTTI GARDONE V.T." on left. Barrel flats with serial number, proof info, and import mark. Splinter forend is checkered in point pattern with engraved floral engraved iron, Anson type push button release, and gold inlaid makers crest at center. Action is near full coverage engraved, signed by Bregoli near trigger guard in full shaded floral scroll pattern. The fences have this same floral scroll and it extends to the top of the frame and tang. Top lever is fabulously sculpted and pierced with mythical creature at thumb. Made with single trigger, auto ejectors, and non auto safety. The fabulously figured European walnut straight grip buttstock is checkered in point pattern through the wrist, has a small tear drop behind the locks, and terminates with a finely checkered butt. Housed in a modern green canvas and brown leather appointed two gun case. CONDITION: Extremely fine as lightly field used. Retains nearly all original finish to both wood and metal surfaces with minor handling marks noted. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Case is excellent with minor rubs. JSL
