Manufactured in 1960 (.458 was commercially introduced in 1956) "Made in U.S.A." "Winchester Proof" "458 Win. Magnum" stated on round barrel with blade ramp foresight, barrel mounted stud for sling, including Winchester swivels and crowned muzzle. Barrel has an island mounted adjustable fixed rear sight. Action is drilled, tapped with four screws for scope mounts. Floorplate is marked "SUPER GRADE". Non-jeweled bolt and extractor with three position Model 70 wing safety. Single serrated trigger. Stock with crisp checkered pistol grip, steel grip cap, Monte Carlo comb, cheekpiece, stud, Winchester rubber pad and fitted with recoil lugs. Forend nicely checkered with ebony tip. CONDITION: Good. 90+% plus retained blue barrel and hardware. Barrel shows some cleaned pitting near the muzzle and 3 inches back on the right side, likely from poor storage. Bore is shiny and rifling strong. Bolt shows evidence of filing and wear on the extractor. Stock with various handling marks and some finish loss. Forearm with some handling marks as well. JTH
