Made in 1972, this Diana Grade gun features a solid matted rib with small white mid-bead and small red front bead. Right side of barrel marked "BROWNING SUPERPOSED" / "SPECIAL STEEL 12GA 2-3/4" AND 3". Custom Superlite type forend with Schnabel tip and engraved latch is checkered in three point pattern. Coin finished action is engraved in standard Diana Grade pattern with pheasants on left, ducks on right, quail on bottom and rabbits on trigger guard all surrounded by well executed scroll engraving by M. Bodson and signed by him on both sides. Made with gold plated single selective trigger, auto ejectors, and non auto safety. The custom straight grip buttstock with checkered side panels is checkered in two point pattern through the wrist, has thick comb, and terminates with a black basket weave Pachmayr pad. CONDITION: Excellent as lightly field used. Barrels retain about 95% of what appears to be their original blue. The coin finished action is excellent and retains about 97% of its coin finish. There is almost indiscernible staining from the original salt wood at back edges of frame that can only be seen under intense scrutiny. Custom stocks are excellent and retain most of their custom finish with minor handling marks and there is a 2 - 1/2" light scratch on left side of action and a grain separation exists on right side of forend. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. JSL
