A handsome and early German drilling with with a fixed blade front sight, pop-up rear sight, extractors, loop for sling, flat top machined tapered rib and extended cross bolt third fastener. Right barrel reads "FRANZ KETTNER" Left barrel reads "Keln A/RH", both in gold. The silver grey toned action is adorned with beautiful floral scroll engraving, stippling and game scenes. Left lock plate with a pair of stag and ducks in forest setting. Right lock plate with several running wild boar in forest. Left lock plate also with side safe. Both lock plates with cocking indicators. Double serrated triggers. Top of action with top lever, cocking indicator, and push slide for drilling barrel / pop up rear sight. Walnut stock with nicely checkered fine pistol grip, steel cap with inlaid gold initials, loop for sling, cheekpiece, steel butt plate and horn trigger guard. Splinter forend with Deeley release. CONDITION: Fair. Barrels retain 75% blue. Shotgun barrels with some interior and exterior wear. Rifle barrel seems to be in good condition. Stock and forend with some handling and bruising marks. CP
