Lot consists of (A) Manufactured 1853. 4" 5 shot 1849 Pocket Model Colt with New York Address. Drift adjustable front blade front sight, scalloped recoil shield as noted in Jordan & Watt's Book of Pocket Colts on page 167. Never determined to be a factory alteration and is observed in a wide range of serial numbers. This scalloped frame was done to eliminate the jamming issue of percussion caps between the frame and cylinder. CONDITION: Good as observed. Matching numbers on butt, frame, barrel, cylinder, and wedge. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Grips are full sized and very fine. Traces of silver remain on straps. Balance of gun is dove grey. Action operates properly. (B) Remington New Model Pocket .31 Percussion with steel frame and trigger assembly. Single action. Walnut grips. CONDITION: Good with excellent action. 40% blue finish overall. An abundance of silver on trigger shroud. Grips are excellent. Bore is dark. Lot comes with pocket model flask and calf skin soft holster. TDW
