Lot consists of (A) Converted using the chambered breech method. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina overall with some light surface rust. Lock markings are partially visible. Clear date. Wood has been sanded at some point with remnants of the cartouche. There is a small wood repair behind the barrel band, crack between the front of the lock and band. Band has a welded repair at the top. Missing the swivel part for the ramrod which appears original. Bore is rusty. Good mechanical function. Replaced nipple. (B) has a bolster conversion marked "A.W" for Asa Waters. The hammer style is very similar to those found on Confederate Fayetteville conversions. The sliding hammer safety was removed and the slot filled in at the time of conversion. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina. Markings are all clear including barrel proofs. Good cartouche. Wood has some dings and handling marks. The head of the back strap screw is broken off. Bore is rusty. Fine mechanical function. GR
