Made in 1892 by Winchester Repeating Arms, New Haven, Connecticut, this Model 1873 deluxe rifle has blued half round half octagon rifled barrel with blade front sight, Buckhorn style rear adjustable sight and 1/2 magazine. Casehardened frame with serrated dust cover and plain trigger. Walnut highly figured checkered pistol grip stock, ebony grip inlay and checkered forearm. Crescent buttplate with sliding door for cleaning rod (missing rod). Comes with Cody letter verifying all options. CONDITION: Barrel blue worn to a plum color with a shootable bore. Action turning a brown shade with some light pitting. Dust cover has been peened to tighten it up. Elevator has dings blurring the caliber marking. Wood has remnants of the deluxe finish with some scratches and dings from heavy use. Gun is good mechanically. Great gun to restore or just admire as a historical piece. DLM
