Made by August Francotte in Liege, Belgium circa 1860. Possible import gun for the American Civil War. Gun has unmarked percussion lock with rifled musket style barrel. Walnut stock with Francotte cartouche. Three iron barrel bands with iron furniture. Rifled octagon to round barrel with blade front sight. Original iron ramrod. CONDITION: Metal has turned to a silvery patina. Wood has usage marks with dings and scratches. There are what looks to be tacks or nails for some unknown reason from toe to triggerguard. Cartouche is sharp and readable. Mechanics are good. DLM
