(1971) This model is still made by Piotti, and retails at just under $20,000.00. This gun has 25 - 5/8" dovetailed barrels with slightly raised matted rib. Tops of barrels are engraved "Acciato Siau" and "F. Piotti Gardone V T". Engine turned barrel flats are stamped with serial number and 1971 Italian nitro proofs. A sling loop is screwed to bottom rib. Coin finished scallop backed boxlock action features non-automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved with 80% coverage large shaded acanthus scroll. Matching trigger guard is blued. Nicely marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 - 5/8" over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip. A sling loop is on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. CONDITION: Excellent, appears to have been completely reconditioned, possibly by factory, retaining nearly all fine finishes on all wood and metal surfaces, with a few subsequent marks, mostly on right side of butt, and a heavy rub on left fence with some dents and silvering on barrel. Bores are excellent, but there is a heavy dent in muzzle of right barrel. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. MGM83.
