Only 89 Model 71 rifles were made in 1943 and only for special customers due to wartime constraints. This is an early short tang deluxe with checkered walnut pistol grip stock and Winchester cap. Has deluxe sling swivels. An old Mershon pad was added giving this rifle a 13 7/8" length of pull. A Williams receiver sight has been added while rear barrel sight has been filled and has standard hooded ramp front sight. Finish is factory blue. CONDITION: The high polish frame retains about 97% original finish with a few minor handling marks. Barrel and tube show a hint of high edge wear. Stocks are excellent with few handling marks and some minor added finish. The bore is fine and sharp. This is a crisp wartime high quality Winchester. From the Mel Hrubetz collection.
