The Colt Model 1877 Lightning was the first factory offered double action revolver. It was widely popular from coast to coast due to its "lightning fast" double action operation and handy size. Features blue and case colored finish, six shot, double action, fluted cylinder, and Colt monogrammed gutta percha grips. Barrel has two line address. Late production with roll-die caliber marking. All matching numbers. CONDITION: Barrel and cylinder retain approximately 50% blue with some wiped-on finish. Case colored frame shows some pattern but no color. Back of trigger and hammer retain 50% fire blue. Top of grip strap has some high polish blue remaining. Markings are sharp. Grips are excellent. Indexes and locks up correctly double action, but a bit off time on single action. Bore exhibits clean, sharp, well defined rifling.
