Features heavy octagon barrel, 1/2" flats, fixed sights, full length tiger striped maple stock, brass forend tip, three retaining thimbles, backlock action, double set triggers, ornate brass trigger guard, brass buttplate. Lock stamped "W. EVERSON" twice. CONDITION: All metal is heavy brown patina with pitting at breech. Stock is very good with usual dings and a small chip of wood missing at heel. Unusual early bench rifle dating to the 1840's. There were two W. Eversons; Washington Everson built rifles in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania 1834 to 1836; and William Everson who built rifles during the mid-19th century in Dayton, Ohio.
