This unique Colt #2 Derringer remains in the white as never having been factory finished. Made without serial number however does have the proper Colt Hartford address on top barrel flat. Chambered for the .41 Eley Centerfire as opposed to the conventional .41 RF as most all Colt Derringer are. A very small group (Approx. 50 pairs) of Colt #2 Derringers were ordered in 1876 for sale at Colt's Pall Mall offices in .41 Eley Centerfire. This example, as is previously mentioned, is made without serial number. Has a small "B" sub inspection under the right grip at base and a small "C" sub inspection on rear of barrel at hinge. Close examination will reveal that this pistol has never been finished and the natural assumption would be that it left in a Colt workman's lunchbox or pocket for his own unauthorized personal use. This same workman was probably very surprised when he discovered that it was centerfire and not rimfire thus explaining its unused condition. CONDITION: Very fine with some very slight discoloration to the white steel from storage. The hammer and trigger retain almost all of the vivid case colors. The bore is brilliant and shows no indication of use. The two piece walnut checkered grips are superb with little to no distress. A truly unique Colt Derringer. TDW
