This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2020
Lot consists of (A) Manufactured 1970 with Millet white outline rear sight, red ramp "T" front sight. Collet bushing, Barrel with "COLT .45 AUTO / MK IV SERIES '70" over breech. Serrated controls, hammer, arched mainspring housing, and short trigger. "KY402-17-0430" electropencilled underneath right grip. Wood grips with silver Colt medallions. No magazine. CONDITION: Fine, retaining the vast majority of finish with sharp legends. Slide is turning a plum color. Some scattered marks from handling and operation. Action works correctly with a fine bore showing very light evidence of use. (B) Manufactured 1931, first year of production. Colt letter lists the gun as having shipped July 14, 1931 as a shipment of two to Fred Ingalls, with blue finish and unlisted stocks. This gun was subsequently plated and engraved, probably in the American Southwest, with florals. Front and rear straps roughly crosshatched. Checkered magazine release, slide release, left side only safety, and hammer. Flat mainspring housing. Adjustable rear sight, fixed serrated ramp front. Impressively thick mother of pearl grips. CONDITION: Fair as refinished. A significant amount of the refinish has flaked and mixed with patina and oxidation, giving the gun a dirty appearance. Bore is very good, with plenty of visible rifling and some light pitting. Action works appropriately. A neat pair of first year of production guns. EW
