Manufactured 1875. Winchester First Model 1873 rifle chambered for the .44-40 cartridge. 24" round barrel with forearm removed and replaced by leather wrap and stitched in place. Has a wonderful aged appearance. Buttstock is a replacement made by tradesman or carpenter but not a gunsmith. Large brass tacks have been added to the stock as embellishment and give the appearance of being native American or Inuit. CONDITION: Fair, bore is dark with visible rifling, action operates. Dust cover is missing. Action appears to operate properly. TDW
