This incredible piece is framed in its original mission oak style frame with gold foil embossed printing "KYNOCH" on top frame with "AMMUNITION" in gold foil on bottom frame. Both are easily readable but somewhat faded. The 54 shotshell images along with the company logo in center are full color decals. CONDITION: There is some crazing and some small missing areas but mostly minor. These are so rare and so fragile, it is amazing given that this piece is probably over a hundred years old that it has survived at all. Has some great cartridges such as Bonax, Primax, Opex and others. All are in color, most have company name printed. In 1863, Kynoch took over the business, which was subsequently renamed G. Kynoch and Co. In 1895 Kynoch built an explosives factory east of Shell Haven Creek, Essex (now known as Coryton). This opened in 1897, with an estate for employees called Kynochtown. Products included cordite, guncotton, gunpowder, and cartridges. Kynoch 12 bore shotgun cartridges from the 1893-1914 period, pre-dating the First World War. The 'Opex' was an expensive, very good quality 'ejector' case which was available in most bore sizes from 4 to 20. The 'Kynoid' was Kynoch's 2nd quality game cartridge (the 'Grouse' was the top quality). The 'Primax' was the 3rd quality case and the 'Bonax' the 4th quality. Framed 27" x 31". DB
INCREDIBLY RARE FRAMED KYNOCH SHOTSHELL DISPLAY MIRROR.
