Dated 1895, with a tall neck over a body chased with ships in turbulent waters, the handles cast as American eagles over shields, the inscription from the President to Captain Amos Hawkett of the British Steamship Queensmore for rescuing the crew of the American schooners Alma Cummings and Marion F Sprague; with an attached base plate engraved Moore & Leding/ Designers & Makers/ Washington DC. Together with contemporary newspaper clippings mounted on linen.
