J. Henry stamped octagonal barreled rifle with German silver front blade sight and rear notched sight. Full curly maple stock with brass hardware including a plain four piece patchbox with push button release in the toe. Large Germanic style flintlock marked "J. Henry Phila" fastened with two screws and no sideplate and controlled with a single trigger. Plain stock except for beaver tail carving behind locks. CONDITION: Overall aged patina with metal parts having some aged pitting. Brass parts have been cleaned and have faded to a nice golden patina. Lock is a reconversion with period original parts being used. Stock has been cleaned with applied finish. Gun has had a foot long section of the forestock replaced and very nicely done. Gun is mechanically sound. DLM 2019
