Proofed in 1982 and imported by New England Arms Co. of Kittery Point, ME, this exceptional shotgun has 29 - 5/8" monobloc barrels with low profile ventilated matted rib which has a small steel front bead. Barrel flat with importer info, serial number, and proof marks. Made with single trigger, auto ejectors, and non-auto safety. The large forend is finely checkered in point pattern with engraved Deeley release, finely scroll engraved iron, and gold inlaid makers crest towards muzzle end. The coin finished sidelock action is near full coverage engraved. The Bulino style engraved sidelocks with a bust of quail in farm scene on right, grouse in northern woods scene on left and a stunning timberdoodle in large circle on bottom all surrounded by well executed tight scroll engraving. The rolled edge trigger guard is near full coverage engraved at bow and serial number and scroll at tang. Beautiful fiddleback European Walnut stock made with full knob pistol grip is checkered in two point pattern through the wrist, has small Monte Carlo and Butt and terminates with a thin and hardening ventilated pad. CONDITION: Excellent as lightly field used. Barrels retain nearly all of their original blue with only very minor handling marks. Action is excellent and retains virtually all of its original finish. Stocks are sound and retain nearly all of their original finish with some most minor impressions noted. The pad is hardened and beginning to crystallize. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are crisp, though top lever is a touch sticky. Truly a work of art. JSL
