Colt Model 1855 Sidehammer pocket revolver. Most commonly referred to as a "Root Model" named after the Colt designer Elisha Root. This particular revolver serial number 8446 is a Model 2 with the pointing hand motif on the Hartford barrel address. Matching serial numbers on cylinder, barrel and frame. One piece walnut grips. Includes correct partition style walnut case with correct accessories including an Eagle powder flask, brass bullet mold, nipple wrench, percussion cap tin, and correct case key. CONDITION: Excellent showing mostly an overall gun metal grey patina. Approximately 65% original blue on barrel, traces of original blue on frame. Tight crisp action. Case excellent overall. -MKS-
