Approximately 900 Colt Model 1851 Navy revolvers between serial numbers 31627 and 39496 are marked "KM" (Konigliche Marine) They were confiscated in 1855 by the Prussian Government from a stock of 3,000 pieces intended or the Russian Government, and issued to the Prussian Royal Navy. Each revolver was issued with a specially designed holster incorporating a pocket for an additional loaded cylinder, along with a Colt Navy powder flask with slant charger, a long rectangular brass percussion capper and a combination nipple wrench manufactured by Colt. Letters "KM" along with issue numbers are stamped on the revolver and accouterments as they were received in Prussia (Germany). This unique and rare grouping includes a correct Konigliche Marine marked 1851 Colt Navy revolver, holster, powder flask, and capper. CONDITION: Revolver has matching serial numbers on the barrel, loading lever, frame, trigger guard, cylinder, and backstrap. Correct "KM 750" marking on top of backstrap. All original unmolested screws (with exception of wedge screw). Revolver is in very fine condition with a pleasing overall brown patina. One piece walnut grips are excellent. Trigger guard and backstrap showing a soft mustard color patina. Bore is excellent. The Colt Navy flask is in fine overall condition with correct slanted charger and "KM 378" marking. The rectangular percussion capper is complete with correct lanyard, showing a beautiful overall dark patina with correct "KM" marking. This is a rare and historical grouping with only about 30 known to survive. From the prestigious Swiss collection of Peter P. Blatter.
