Scarce Colt Baby Dragoon, manufactured from 1847 through 1850 with a total production of approximately 15,000 total. This particular revolver serial number 7246 is the Type II variation and was built in 1848. 4-inch octagon barrel chambered in .31 caliber. Blue with case hardened frame, hammer, and lever. Five shot cylinder. One piece walnut grips. Silver plated brass "square back" triggerguard and backstrap. Housed in a leather "French fitted" case complete with correct accessories including powder charger, brass bullet mold, nipple wrench, and correct key. CONDITION: Mostly a clean gun metal grey patina overall. Strong cylinder scene. Matching serial numbers on barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and wedge. MKS
