Early production (1852) 6 inch barrel with hand engraved "Sam Colt" address. Factory engraved in the classic donut style scroll pattern. Engraved on barrel, wedge, loading lever, frame, hammer, backstrap, and trigger guard. One piece varnished select burl walnut grips with "piano" finish. Cased in the "upside down" manner with English oak case and correct accessories including an Eagle flask, brass bullet mold, cleaning rod, oiler, nipple wrench, and paper cartridge pack. CONDITION: Very fine overall with a pleasing blue-gray patina showing traces of high polish blue on barrel mainly under loading lever. Engraved screws, with two replacement screws on trigger guard. Matching serial numbers on wedge, loading lever, cylinder, barrel, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Strong cylinder scene. Case is excellent, showing modest wear. Overall a very attractive a desirable Colt Model 1849 Pocket. -MKS-
