Manufactured 1860. Colt Fluted Army with 7 - 1/2" round barrel with single line Hartford barrel address. Caliber .44 percussion with matching numbers and Colt marked nipples. Blue finish barrel and cylinder with case color frame and silver plated trigger guard and backstrap. One piece varnished walnut grips. Four screw variation with factory slot and studs for shoulder stock. Detachable shoulder stock with silver plated hardware marked 1519 under buttplate and 16826 on grip flange and 12 on front flange. Varnished walnut stock. Saddle ring still present. Housed in a green velvet lined Colt pattern case together with two cavity steel Colt marked bullet mold, early tilted tube Colt powder flask, and Eley marked 250 count cap tin. Colt nipple wrench and Colt's patented .44 cal combustible cartridge packet with lacquer still in place. CONDITION: Very fine with barrel and cylinder retaining 25-30% factory blue fading to brown. Barrel having scattered marks from use and disassembly. Generous amounts of vivid case colors remain on frame. Varnished stocks retain over 90% factory varnish and minor chip in left side of grip to rear of trigger guard. Grip straps retain well over 85% silver plated finish. Stock is consistent with revolver with over 90% varnish on stock and over 80% thinning silver over brass hardware. Case is very good with with minor age separation in lid and lining is possible relined. TDW
