Made in 1942 with 28" barrels that have raised matted top rib with two beads and usual rib legend on tops of barrels. Unengraved frame marked "L.C. Smith" on sides. Splinter forend is checkered in point pattern with blued roll type release. Capped pistol grip buttstock checkered in point pattern with original lined composition buttplate. Made with double triggers, auto ejectors, auto-safety. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine and near mint. Retains virtually all of its bold original case color to frame. Barrels retain nearly all of their original blue with a couple of minor handling marks. Stocks are very choice with only very minor impressions. It would be nearly impossible to improve upon the quality of this gun. The condition is stunning. PROVENANCE: From the Carl Balderson Jr. Estate Collection, acquired in 2003. JSL
