Serial number dates this gun to 1933, though Remington production code dates it to manufacture of August of 1938 and this gun is clearly a transition gun with the name "Parker" or "Parker Bros" not found anywhere on the action- a very rare feature. Made with 26" Vulcan Steel barrels which have matted tapered game rib and steel front bead. Made on 000 Frame with unstruck barrel weight of 2 lbs 9 oz, and barrel flats show Remington repair code of "BRR3" for January of 1946- a service call on the gun. Unmarked transition action with border zig-zag engraving. Made with beavertail forend checkered in standard VH Grade pattern and border engraved Deeley latch. Made with Parker single selective trigger, auto ejectors, and non-auto safety. Straight grip buttstock is of American walnut checkered in point pattern through the wrist and terminates with a beautiful checkered butt. CONDITION: Very fine as restored in the early 1980's by Creekside Gunshop (Now Turnbull Restorations). Barrels retain 90-95% toned blue with a couple of light scratches and handling marks. Action retains about 85%+ expertly restored case colors which could pass for original. Stocks are sound and retain about all of a professionally restored finish. Trigger guard with about 85% toned blue. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. These .410 Skeet configured guns are rare and hard to find. PROVENANCE: From the Carl Balderson Jr. Estate Collection, purchased from Randy Schuman in 2011. JSL
