Made in 1904 on a 1 - 1/2 Frame with 28" Titanic Steel barrels that have a concave matted rib with usual rib legend and twin ivory beads. Barrel flats with unstruck barrel weight of 3 lbs 9 oz and grade marking "5". Case hardened action is beautifully engraved with Parker scroll and floral pattern in about 75% coverage as is top lever and top tang. Fences with single bead. Straight grip French walnut buttstock with checkered side panels and fleur-de-lis behind action is checkered in flowing pattern through the wrist and has silver oval near toe with initials "DSW" and terminates with an older solid red Silvers type pad. The forend is fully checkered with engraved Deeley release and steel tip. Made with auto ejectors, now with Miller single selective trigger, and non-auto safety. Housed in a modern leather case with green felt interior. CONDITION: Fine, barrels retain 85% original blue with muzzle wear, and thinning in chamber and forend area along with hunting wear throughout. Receiver retains traces of original case color, visible in protected areas, with balance a pleasing silver patina. Stock is sound with slightly thinned checkering, numerous light nicks and scratches, small nick by lower tang at receiver and retains original finish blending with a professional added finish near recoil pad. Forend is sound with slightly thinned checkering, nicks and scrapes and retains original finish blending with hand worn patina. Mechanics are crisp with non-automatic safety that is also trigger selector, strong ejectors and shiny bores. Case is excellent with minor rubs. These floral engraved B Grade guns are unusual and this one has particularly deep cut engraving with beautiful scroll. PROVENANCE: From the Carl Balderson Jr. Estate Collection. PGCA Letter indicating gun ordered by Arthur Ketchey of Newport, RI. and sold to him by A.W. Du Bray. JSL
CORRECTION: This has a single NON selective trigger, not selective as stated.
