Made in 1937, this exceedingly rare gun was made on a "000" frame with raised concave matted top rib with twin white beads, late enough manufacture that it does not have a barrel legend. Barrel flats marked with Parker proof marks, unstruck barrel weight of 2 lbs 13 oz, and "SKEET IN SKEET OUT" marking. Side of barrel lumps marked "D GRADE 410 GA". Made with Parker single selective trigger, auto ejectors, and non-auto safety. The case hardened action is engraved in standard late DHE grade pattern with pheasants on trigger plate, pointer on right, setter on left surrounded by well executed Parker scroll. Lightening cuts in the water table. The straight grip buttstock is checkered in point pattern through the wrist with tear drop behind action and terminates with its original engraved and blued skeleton buttplate. Housed in a toe under Winchester Model 21 case with maroon felt interior. CONDITION: Fine. Barrels retain 90%+ plum original barrel blue with some minor spotting and thinning at muzzle. Action retains about 20% case color, more on left side, mostly toned to silver on right and bottom. Stocks are very good with scattered handling marks and retain most of their original finish wish some finish added for preservation. There is a tiny grain separation behind the top tang that is near imperceptible. The trigger guard retains about 15% original blue. Buttplate has toned to mostly silver with a hint of original blue present, checkering still very good. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Case is very good with wear and rub marks. Original Winchester stickers are mostly intact. In 30+ years of chasing Parkers this is only the third DHE .410 skeet observed by this cataloger. Only 59 DHE .410's made in total. An extremely rare investment grade American Sporting shotgun. PROVENANCE: From the Carl Balderson Jr. Estate Collection. PGCA Letter confirming current configuration. JSL
