Deluxe factory engraved. 7 - 1/2" barrel. Chambered in .45 Long Colt. Serial number 32900, with two line patent date on frame. Correct barrel address with block style letters. Matching serial numbers observed on barrel under ejector housing, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder. Accompanying the revolver is a Colt Factory Archival Letter dated April 30, 2012 and signed by Colt Historian, Beverly Haynes. Letter documents: .45 caliber, nickel finish, ivory stocks, factory engraving, shipped to B. Kittredge and Company Cincinnati, Ohio, June 28th, 1878. Engraving is very well executed and probably the work of Cuno Helfricht featuring detailed scrolls and punch dot backgrounds. The level of engraving on this revolver exceeds what is typically seen. Scroll work on top of the barrel between the sight and address, engraving inside cylinder flutes, border work on rear of cylinder and outline of hammer, "sunflower" on loading gate, with detailed scroll work on recoil shield. Early "donut" style ejector rod. Full nickel with well fitting one piece ivory grips. CONDITION: Period refinished with replaced ivory grips. Excellent overall with 98% nickel remaining. Bore is fine with scattered abrasion. Action is tight and crisp. Overall a most attractive early blackpowder, factory engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver. -MKS-
