Bead front sight with folding moon sight on matte ramp. Sling swivel dovetailed in horizontally, forearm lump also dovetailed in and marked 13997. Proofed on bottom of barrel for 45 grain .22 Hornet, which gun has been lined to. Silver line express sights with fixed standing leaf for 100 yards and folding leaves for 200 and 300 yards. Tight border engraving at breech. Mounted with a Supra 4x81 with standard crosshairs in QD mounts. Forearm checkered in point pattern with ball detent rotary underlever release and dark wood tip. Iron numbered to action on interior. Engraving on underlever and exposed metal. Lever blued, other metal with remnants of case coloring. Action flat with serial number, Crown/V, and Crown BV proofs. Case color action engraved with scroll and florals, scalloped at recoil shield. Bushed firing pin. Blued action plate at bottom. Trigger guard with scroll. Full length tang running to a case colored pistol grip. Sling swivel near toe. Pistol grip stock with two panels of point pattern checkering terminating in a metal buttplate. CONDITION: Fine as rehabilitated. Barrel retains virtually all of an old rebluing, probably done when barrel was lined. Forearm is excellent with no cracks or chips, checkering possibly refreshed. One extremely minor chip missing near rotary lever. Action is very good with strong traces of case color still evident, more in protected areas. Bluing on trigger guard and action plate reapplied. One minor area of old oxidation at rearmost of tang. Buttplate reblued. Action works appropriately when operated by hand, bore is excellent, bright and shiny, with sharp lands and grooves. Stock and forearm are contemporary additions but do not detract. EW
