This is an interesting gun in that it was originally a percussion pattern 1853 rifled musket that was imported by Sinclair, Hamilton & Co for the Confederacy during the Civil War. 1863 dated on the lock. "Crown/ SH/ G1" Sinclair Hamilton inspectors marking on the comb of the stock by the buttplate tang. "ROBERTS PAT./ JUNE.11.1867" marked on the left side of the receiver. CONDITION: All iron surfaces have been lightly cleaned. Markings are clear. Brass has a nice patina returning. Wood has some dings and handling marks with a crack in the left side by the screw and extending to the trigger guard. There is a repair to the stock above the lockplate at the rear using the original piece of wood. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. GR
