Manufactured by Elijah and Asa Waters and Nathaniel Whitmore of Sutton, Massachusetts. Flint lock marked "Sutton" with "US" in oval above and dated 1811 at rear. Smoothbore musket style barrel with liberty cap proof and "US" at rear. Walnut musket style stock with iron furniture and steel ramrod. CONDITION: Wood is oil soaked with some slivers missing along the forestock. Stock has heavy usage marks and dings. Metal has turned a plum patina with some light pitting. Touch has been enlarged and lock appears original. Good mechanics with dark pitted bore. DLM
