5 - 1/4" blued octagon barrel with British proofs on bottom of barrel. Six shot cylinder with appropriate British proofs over each chamber. Baker's hammer lever with integral rear sight. Recoil shield with roped forward edge. Frame lightly engraved with line border, small sprays of scrolls; right side with "T.K. Baker / London". Top of frame, just under the hammer, had an later identifying stamp which was then aggressively removed, with "RED / 241852" still visible. English push on safety. Checkered wood grips. Accompanied by a wooden case with a vacant brass circle on the lid and a Baker's Registered paper label in lid with instructions and a brief description of the mechanics of the firearm. Accessories comprise an Eley cap tin, nipple wrench, and powder flask with repousse shell design on both sides. CONDITION: Very good, with plenty of high polish blue finish on barrel and cylinder intermixed with patination, high edge wear, and a few scattered areas of rubbing. Frame has been cleaned to dove grey. Grips are very good with some scattered handling marks. Safety needs attention and currently does not stop hammer from falling, action otherwise works appropriately. Bore is fair with visible rifling and roughness throughout. Cap tin now gunmetal grey, nipple wrench very good with oxidation on metal head, powder flask is fine with spring fading to a dull blue. Case itself is fair with numerous nicks and scuffs from age and two large cracks across the bottom. EW
