(1925) 00 Frame. 26" barrels have Parker Brothers Meriden CT. address and "VULCAN STEEL" on matted rib. All correct markings are on water table and lumps including June 1947 Remington repair code. Typical small case hardened Parker action with automatic safety and double triggers has usual wiggle borders. "Parker Bros" is on each side. All correct patent and grade markings are on water table with lightening cuts. Blued trigger guard has serial number on tang. Very nicely figured and streaked reddish American walnut Parker capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14 - 5/8" over Parker dog's head buttplate. Usual point pattern checkering is at grip. There is no silver shield in stock. Matching splinter ejector forend with usual Parker release has patent date on iron. Gun is accompanied by a tan leather leg o' mutton case by Brauer. CONDITION: Very finely restored, to appear nearly "as new". There is some very light subsequent wear. Barrels retain over 90% of what appears to be their original blue, with scattered light frosting and a few scratches. Action re-colored, and retains nearly all of that color which is of a correct hue. There is just a bit of silvering on sharp edges and fences. Stocks, possibly well done replacements, retain nearly all of a hand rubbed oil finish. Checkering shows little wear. Bores are excellent. Mechanically very fine. Case is excellent, leather still light in color, all straps and handle are very fine. A really lovely little Parker, which was obviously in great condition before tactful restoration. Fewer than 1500 "VH" 28 bore guns were made. From the Mel Hrubetz Collection. MGM64.
