Dated 1844 with "US Johnson Middn Conn" marked lock. Percussion conversion from flint with 8-1/2" .54 caliber round barrel and swivel type rammer. One piece walnut stock with very strong US inspector cartouches. All mounts are of iron and has brass round blade front sight. Used in great numbers during the Mexican War as well as the war for Southern Independence. CONDITION: Good with a very even and pleasing patina overall. Bore is very dark. Stock is very good with typical light bruising and staining. Action operates properly. Rammer and swivel appear to be contemporary replacements. TDW
